Alterior Motive, as far as Melbourne based theatre companies go, are one of the new kids on the block. Their first show was David Mamet’s Sexual Perversity in Chicago, which flaunted its brash self at the rather sexy Toff in Town at the end of 2007. The cast and crew had such a hoot donning tight flares and spouting profanities they decided to bring it back for the 2009 Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Audience members, although often a little red-faced, loved it! So, now we’re pressing on with the next show, this time with the dramatic masterpiece of Federico Garcia Lorca; The House of Bernarda Alba. A tragic tale of passion and oppression combined with the fire and energy of Spain.

Alterior Motive feel a bit too young a fresh to pigeonhole themselves into a particular style of theatre just yet, so for now we’re just hurtling head first into what we love and adopting the fly by the seat of your pants method of getting it done. We hope you join us for the ride.
